A group of us decided to hike to backcountry shelter #24 in the Smokys. These are some random pics of our trip. We brave some light rain going in which faded off as the day progressed. The night was very clear, but about 3 o'clock in the morning the weather turned and it began to pour. By morning the rock trail we used to cross the river fork below camp was totally covered and impassable. After checking weather and finding more rain was on the way we decided to take our chances and hike out as planned rather than wait it out. We crossed some fallen logs to get over the very swollen river.
This was also Beth's first hiking trip, and she loved it. So we are working on going again. Just have to find the time and place. Enjoy the pictures.....
